The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking a Quality Specialist to join our REACH Team. The successful candidate will perform intermediate skilled administrative support work to include high volume data entry, conducting chart audits of the Program to ensure charts meet Medicaid, Licensure and RBHA standards for documentation, identifying staff training needs, and reviewing REACH incident reports and ensuring appropriate action, follow‑up and documentation, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the REACH Quality Manager. This position is fully telework.
Essential Functions
Completes a high volume of data entry and maintenance of several Excel spreadsheets and data platforms.
Conducts on‑site and online chart reviews/audits for REACH residential and community‑based services.
Conducts on‑site physical inspections at the Adult/Child CTH and ATH.
Assists with submission of billing authorization requests.
Participates in data collection for DOJ and Prevention Services ensuring accuracy of information, and entering into state Behavioral Health Link platform.
Identifies staff training needs; conducts and/or arranges for trainings based on findings from audits and data reviews.
Reviews incident reports for the program; ensures appropriate action, follow‑up and documentation by REACH personnel.
Identifies quality improvement and risk management needs and develops necessary strategies to mitigate risks.
Aids in the development of new processes, policies and procedures, etc. to ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies.
Other responsibilities as requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of the principles, standards, practices and techniques of clinical practices in a behavioral health setting; thorough knowledge of best practices/standards of consumer care, documentation and quality control; thorough knowledge of treatment, assessment, and related services to include ancillary and medical services for the behavioral health consumers served by the agency in the areas of mental health, substance abuse and intellectual disabilities; thorough knowledge of local and State rules, regulations, procedures and policies pertaining to behavioral health services; ability to accurately maintain confidentiality of medical records and reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, consumers and the general public.
