Responsibilities

Create a classroom environment that promotes an exemplary learning community: enriched by differences, informed through inquiry, global in reach.

Plan and implement clear, well-thought-out lesson plans that connect in-class learning to concepts and real-world situations, and generate enthusiasm and academic excellence in the classroom.

Demonstrate command of the curriculum outcomes for the grade level.

Use a variety of developmentally appropriate instructional and assessment methods to meet the needs of all learners and provide varied forms of feedback on learning.

Monitor the academic, personal, emotional, and social progress of students.

Use technology purposefully in the classroom to enhance learning and to provide information and feedback to students and parents.

Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.

Highlight students’ successes and areas of growth through assessment.

Implement support strategies with the Student Support Team (SST) and communicate with parents regarding support, and collaborate and plan with the French as an Additional Language (FAL) Instructional Support Teacher to develop indicators of readiness for the program exiting into the immersion classroom.

Qualifications

Bachelor's in Elementary Education or related degree required.

Master's degree (preferred).

2 years of teaching experience.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; credibility and ethical conduct.

Excellent writing and editing skills; ability to write and format professional correspondence, memos, and support documentation.

U.S. Work Authorization required.
