Lower School Music Teacher
for an immediate start at an independent school in
Miami, FL .
This position will be responsible for teaching several music courses for lower school students and developing curriculum aligned with NAFME standards, among other duties.
Responsibilities
Teach several music courses for lower school students.
Develop curriculum aligned with NAFME standards that promotes students’ creative, performance, and response abilities.
Ensure proper care, maintenance, and responsible use of musical instruments, equipment, and technology.
Build strong relationships through clear and consistent communication with families, students, and colleagues, including timely updates on student progress and effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication.
Participate in ongoing professional development to improve instructional practices and remain current with trends in the field.
Prepare students for school concerts and planned music experiences.
Inspire and motivate students to extend themselves to after school music clubs.
Build relationships and mentor students.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in music or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
At least 4 years of K-12 teaching experience required.
Strong vocal and instrumental skills.
Knowledge of varied teaching strategies to differentiate learning.
Eager to work collaboratively with other teachers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
U.S. Work Authorization required.
