As part of our Water Business Group, you'll help shape how communities manage water for generations to come. From delivering safe drinking water and treating wastewater responsibly to developing sustainable water supplies and protecting lives and property through flood control, your work will directly support public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience.

Water/Wastewater Engineer Responsibilities

Plan, direct and monitor technical aspects of water pump stations and pipeline design projects, sewer collection system design, and wastewater treatment plant design.

Work in a team environment to accomplish complex tasks and project deliverables.

Take responsibility for performing complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.

Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed.

Be involved with client relationships with specific focus on relaying HDR's water and wastewater credentials.

Function as technical specialist, deputy project manager and/or project manager on mid-size projects as needed.

Ability to supervise small staff of professionals and technicians as needed.

Responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures and for the execution of training for personnel as established.

Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.

Assist in permitting efforts associated with design projects.

Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Civil 3D CAD and/or BIM experience.

A minimum of 3-years experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.

Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects.

Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.

Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Las Vegas, NV: $75,040 - $107,200.
