Paraeducator II (Part‑Time 3‑3.75hpd) – Jan 2026 Join the Escondido Union School District as a Part‑Time Paraeducator II, working 3 to 3¾ hours per day. This posting establishes an eligibility list for anticipated vacancies during the 2025‑2026 school year.

Qualifications

Secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent.

One of the following:

Completion of at least two years of study (minimum 48 semester hours) at a post‑secondary institution.

Possession of an associate’s (or higher) degree.

Passing a rigorous assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instruction, reading, writing, and mathematics at State and Federal requirements.

Provision of college transcripts verifying 48 units or more in core subject area courses with a grade of “C” or better. Transcripts must be submitted with the application, or a letter requesting an NCLB examination date if insufficient units.

Responsibilities

Help contribute to actualizing the unlimited potential of learners by providing instructional assistance to individual or small groups of students in the classroom or other learning environment, and assisting in the supervision of students in the classroom, at lunch, or during play.

Requirements

Subscribe to an Oath of Allegiance.

Submit a general tuberculosis examination and proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Be fingerprinted and complete a pre‑placement physical examination.

Show proof of medical fitness and pass a drug test as part of the drug‑free workplace policy.

Certification & Eligibility List

Upon a vacancy, the Classified Personnel Director will submit the names of the top three candidates on the eligibility list to the appointing power. The appointing power may select any one of the certified individuals. Candidates not appointed remain on the eligibility list.
