Licensed Practical Nurse – Employee Medical Center (Full‑time)
Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Employee Medical Center as a full‑time practitioner. The position is Safety Sensitive and subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Key Responsibilities
Observe, record, and report patient symptoms and changes in condition.
Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient examinations.
Prepare and administer prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies.
Maintain inventory of medications and medical supplies.
Perform phlebotomy for laboratory testing.
Conduct health assessments, screenings, and testing for COVID‑19, influenza, strep A, and other conditions.
Assist with ancillary testing: audiometry, spirometry, vision testing, ECG, tuberculosis screening.
Perform urine drug and breath alcohol screening as required.
Perform other duties as required – under general supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited nursing school – Practical Nurse program.
Current license to practice as an LPN in Virginia.
Minimum 2 years’ experience as an LPN preferred; equivalent combination of training and experience accepted.
Physically able to lift, carry, transfer, bend, stoop, and remain on feet for extended periods.
Basic computer skills to navigate and document notes in the electronic health record.
Professionalism and strict confidentiality are required.
Strong customer‑service skills.
Occupational medicine experience is preferred.
Pre‑Employment Requirements
Drug screening.
FBI criminal background check.
Education/degree verification.
Compensation $56,107.00 – $75,744.00 annually.
Schedule & Location Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
