Responsibilities The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, continually evaluating the patient’s condition and providing safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and sterile techniques. Provides comprehensive patient care to those emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and discharge preparation for the patient and family.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
Active RN license in the state
BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center
2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
Capability to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs
Strong communication skills, verbal and written
