Prince Frederick Surgery Center is hiring a PreOp/PACU RN. Our mission is to treat each patient and their families as if they were our own.
Overview The
PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse
provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. The RN may assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile techniques, and provides comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation. Duties include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family in preparation for discharge.
Responsibilities
Evaluate patient condition continuously and provide safe, comfortable & private care.
Assist physicians during procedures with sedation and sterile techniques.
Manage the delivery of comprehensive post‑anesthesia care.
Coordinate assessment, planning, and evaluation of patients and families for discharge.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
Active RN license in the state of Maryland.
BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
