Position Overview Do you have a passion for delivering exceptional nutritional care, especially to Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable populations? The Department of Human Services seeks a skilled, energetic, and compassionate Clinical Dietitian to lead our dietary services team and oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of comprehensive nutritional care for residents at Clarks Summit State Hospital.

Description of Work

Plan and organize a comprehensive patient nutrition care program, including therapeutic or prescribed diets.

Develop, modify, and implement menus and individualized nutrition care plans in accordance with physicians’ orders and established nutritional standards.

Conduct nutritional assessments, review diet histories, and complete required medical record documentation.

Perform work with a high degree of initiative and independent professional judgment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week.

Work hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch. May change based on operational needs.

Overtime and travel: As needed.

No telework option.

Salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases.

Qualifications

Special Requirement:

Must possess certification as a Registered Dietitian as defined by the Commission on Registration of the American Dietetic Association, or proof of eligibility for such certification.

Other Requirements:

Must meet the PA residency requirement. Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
