Fairview is looking for a Health Unit Coordinator at the M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN! This position is

64 hours

every two weeks on the

Day/Evening

shift, for 8 hour shifts, and every other weekend, and is eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, and more. Do you have a passion for family care? If so, the Birthplace may be the right fit for you! The Birthplace at Southdale Hospital has three components: NICU, Family Care Center, and Labor and Delivery. This extensive department offers professional growth by cross‑training staff to other units within the Birthplace. The unit has 12 Labor/Delivery/Birthing rooms, 4 flex rooms, 3 OB triage rooms, 2 OR’s, and a Recovery room, as well as a 30‑bed Mom/Baby private rooms. The NICU itself has 18 beds and is a Level III center caring for babies at 30 weeks and beyond. The Birthplace averages 250 births per month. Job Responsibilities

The Health Unit Coordinator is the primary receptionist and concierge for the unit. This role crafts the “first impression” guests (patients or visitors) experience during their stay from the welcome and greeting, through the check‑in and check‑out process. During the guest’s stay this position interacts closely with patients, families, physicians and the multidisciplinary team in a highly organized and professional manner. The HUC ensures that outstanding patient experience is achieved by displaying effective customer service, decision‑making and communication skills in a friendly, thoughtful and empathetic manner. The HUC also performs a range of clerical functions including handling patient charts, coordination of data flow and sharing of general hospital information and directions. Ensures outstanding patient & guest experience is achieved Coordinates activities of unit to support patient care staff Manages medical record and data flow within the unit to support safe patient care processes Fulfills physician orders Performs other tasks as needed Required Qualifications

1 year customer service experience Preferred Qualifications
