Prisma Health

provides biopsycho-social assessments, creates individualized treatment plans, and delivers individual, family, and group therapy for patients within Outpatient Behavioral Care Services. Specializes in working with adults, adolescents, and families experiencing mental health/substance abuse problems.

Essential Functions

Completes an accurate biopsychosocial assessment, including competency in diagnostic determinations and determination of appropriate level of care for patient.

Provides direct and indirect clinical/therapeutic services to patients and their families with clinical supervision as needed.

Develops an individualized treatment plan with measurable goals related to patient's presenting problems and participates as an active member of the multidisciplinary treatment plan.

Provides appropriate therapy specific to patient's symptoms.

Performs case management responsibilities involved with direct patient care, including utilization review, discharge planning, family involvement/education, documentation, communication with referral sources, short‑term disability paperwork, employer communication, and coordination with multidisciplinary team and outside community providers.

Participates in outcome monitoring activities.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non‑management position that reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related human services field.

Experience: No previous experience required.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses Currently licensed as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners, or licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor‑Associate (LPC‑A) by the South Carolina Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho‑Educational Specialists, or licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist‑Associate (LMFT‑A) by the South Carolina Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho‑Educational Specialists.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Group, individual, and family therapy skills.

Psychiatric problem‑solving abilities, assessment skills, treatment planning skills.

Communication skills.

Interpersonal skills across multiple professions and disciplines.

Knowledge of computer software and utilization of electronic medical record.
