BRCC is seeking a Biology Faculty member to teach courses within traditional classroom, hybrid, HyFlex, and online instructional environments with a focus on a strong pedagogical approach and quality student learning assessments. This is a full‑time, 9‑Month, 24‑pay, Teaching Faculty position with full state benefits. Anticipated start date is August 2026.

The position includes participation in institutional development such as service and leadership on college committees, academic advising, and mentoring adjunct faculty within the discipline. Blue Ridge Community College faculty are expected to participate in scholarly engagement, professional development which includes teaching pedagogy, institutional responsibility, and community service to both the campus and surrounding communities.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Biology with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in core Biology content

Experience using a variety of computer software programs and ability to learn new ones, particularly related to online instruction

Ability to teach students effectively and create lesson plans

Passion for the field of accounting and for teaching

Ability to use creativity, innovation, and compassion to instruct and engage students

Ability to teach a diverse student population

Additional Considerations

Community college or university teaching experience in the classroom, hybrid, HyFlex, as well as synchronous and asynchronous online modalities

Documented track record of innovation in the classroom, teaching, and soft skills

Academic program management experience or program management equivalent

Demonstrated ability to work well with others
