Position: 9‑month Assistant Professor. Agency: Blue Ridge Community College. Work Location: Augusta, VA. Salary Range: $52,905 – $81,811. Telework Option: Subject to business needs. Work Schedule: Varies as needed; teaching combination of day/evening, in‑person, online, hybrid courses. Sensitive Position. No job description provided.

Responsibilities

Teach courses in traditional, hybrid, HyFlex, and online environments, focusing on pedagogical approaches and quality student learning assessments.

Participate in institutional development: service and leadership on college committees, academic advising, mentoring adjunct faculty.

Engage in scholarly activities, professional development, including teaching pedagogy, institutional responsibilities, and community service.

Prepare and deliver teaching demonstrations during the interview process.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Biology with at least 18 graduate hours in core biology content.

Experience using various computer software, particularly related to online instruction.

Ability to teach students effectively and create lesson plans.

Passion for biology and teaching.

Ability to use creativity, innovation, and compassion to engage a diverse student population.

Experience in community college or university teaching across modalities.

Track record of innovation in teaching and soft skills.

Academic program management experience or equivalent.

Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
