Job Details Sunstates Security is currently hiring Flex Security Officers for the Indianapolis, IN area. All shifts and days are available. This position offers a starting pay of
$18.50/hr
with weekly pay. Hiring immediately.
Must have reliable transportation.
One year of experience in security, military, or law enforcement is preferred.
Excellent customer service skills.
Willing and able to work holidays, weekends, and in all weather conditions.
Must regularly stand or walk for extended periods of time and distance.
Exceptional report writing skills.
Ability to mentally analyze a situation, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure.
Able to work independently.
Read and understand written instruction and communicate information and ideas in a clear and concise written form.
Flex Officer Explanation The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company’s operational and financial success. A Flex Officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts that become open due to illness, call‑offs, weather, vacation, or other causes, enabling uninterrupted service to our customers while maintaining a healthy work‑life balance.
Scheduling Expectations
You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week’s schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance that falls within the availability described on this sheet. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability, you must communicate this with your supervisor.
For short‑notice call‑ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. Refusing more than 20% of called shifts could negatively impact your employment status.
