Funeral Director & Embalmer – ICCFA
Location: Westfield, New Jersey

Responsibilities
Meeting with clients to discuss funeral arrangements, explain service options, assist in casket selection, provide pricing information, and prepare contracts.
Perform technical and cosmetological embalming services.
Finalize details discussed in arrangement conferences with appropriate tracking and compliance documents.
Direct funeral services and visitation, including greeting family members, opening the parlor, coordinating and instructing pallbearers, escorting clergy to the chapel, and assisting with funerals as needed.
Prepare or coordinate the preparation and issuance of permits and documents associated with funerals and embalming, including death certificates, coroner permits, and embalming case studies.
Remove and transport deceased from home or hospital to funeral home.
Maintain cleanliness of the preparation room and equipment.
Perform all other related functions as assigned.

Requirements
At least 1 year of experience as a licensed funeral director and 2 years of post‑secondary education.
Licensed funeral director and embalmer or ability to obtain a state license; ability to obtain any additional licensing required by the state.
Graduate from an accredited school of embalming or mortuary science.
High degree of concentration and attention for continuous periods.
Ability to stand, walk, lift, or push as required.
Valid state driver’s license.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to interact and collaborate effectively in a team atmosphere.
