Position Purpose The Trades Training Supervisor oversees the day‑to‑day delivery of training programs for trades personnel, ensuring that instruction aligns with industry standards, safety regulations, and the organization’s strategic goals. The role focuses on coordinating and facilitating comprehensive training that equips the technical workforce with the skills needed to perform safely and effectively. The supervisor collaborates with the Senior Director of CS Organizational Development and Culture, department leaders, subject‑matter experts, and external partners to create a high‑quality learning experience for apprentices and to develop qualified building technicians.

Required Qualifications

High School plus 5+ years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Eight years of experience in multiple trades, with a solid understanding of technical skills and best practices.

In‑depth knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements relevant to the trade and technical fields.

Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for teaching, with experience mentoring or providing on‑the‑job training.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.

Ability to adjust training methods to accommodate different learning styles and evolving industry standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant trade certifications or licenses.

Background in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.

Previous experience in a training or instructional role within a trade environment.

Experience developing and managing apprenticeship programs or similar training initiatives.

Key Accountabilities Instruction & Facilitation (35%)

Hands‑on Training: Conduct hands‑on training sessions for current trades employees and internal apprentices in multiple trades, focusing mainly on entry‑level skills in the building repair and building services roles. This position will also involve working with supervisors to train employees interested in improving their discipline.

Mentorship: Provide ongoing guidance and support to employees and apprentices, fostering their growth and skill development through one‑on‑one and group mentorship.

Program Management (50%)

Curriculum Administration: Lead the apprentices through the curriculum developed for the Building Service Technician. Work with FO&M leadership to develop customized training plans for different trades, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance.

Apprentice Program Management: Oversee the certified State of NH training programs for internal apprentices, ensuring comprehensive instruction and support throughout their learning process. Create and monitor the success of this program.

Performance Assessment: Assess the effectiveness of training programs and make data‑driven improvements based on feedback and performance evaluations.

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and advancements, incorporating new techniques and technologies into training programs.

Training Schedule: Work with the Senior Director of CS Organizational Development and Culture and trade leaders to identify the apprentices’ training needs and secure the appropriate resources for their training.
