Overview
Supervisory Social Workers at the GS‑13 grade typically supervise a significant number of professional staff at the GS‑12 grade, including advanced practice social workers, social work program coordinators, social work supervisors, and other non‑social work disciplines. The HUD‑VASH Program Supervisor is licensed at the advanced practice level and can provide supervision for subordinate staff to qualify for licensure.
Responsibilities The HUD‑VASH Program Supervisor has significant personnel management and program coordination responsibilities for a team of professional social work staff and interdisciplinary team members as well as support staff assigned to the NCHCS HUD‑VASH Program across a large identified geographic area. Supervised teams may be comprised of both VA and contract employees. In conjunction with, and under the guidance of the NCHCS HUD‑VASH Program Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the professional and administrative management of the social work and interdisciplinary staff provided by the HUD‑VASH staff. The HUD‑VASH Program Supervisor also provides direct clinical services and consultation to the VA Medical Center and community partners as needed. The HUD‑VASH Program Supervisor assists in planning, establishing, and implementing policies and procedures, developing individual or group goals and objectives as well as monitoring, operating, evaluating, coordinating, and overseeing the staff of the assigned programs. The incumbent assures the staff supervised are aware of and adhere to all current directives of VHA, and meet current Joint Commission standards, state licensure standards, and VA‑OIG expectations, as well as CARF accreditation standards. In conjunction with the NCHCS HUD‑VASH Program Manager, the incumbent will conduct ongoing intensive reviews and appraisals to ensure the accomplishment of objectives and adherence to standards set by governing bodies.

Pay:
Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of existing pay, higher or unique qualifications, or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
Paid Time Off:
37 days of annual paid time offer per year (13 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)
Parental Leave:
After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
Child Care Subsidy:
After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
Retirement:
Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance:
Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long‑term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
