Nurse Simulation Instructor - Per Diem

Overview The Gordon Center seeks qualified individuals for the Nurse Simulation Instructor – Per Diem positions (Instructors 1, 2, and 3). The instructor teaches in GC emergency training programs to over 15,000 learners annually, delivers didactic instruction, psychomotor skills training, and cognitive assessments, and serves as the course coordinator for on‑site courses.
Responsibilities
Teach a minimum of 12–16 courses per term and participate in annual instructor updates and development programs.
Assist with the compilation of educational research data.
Provide remedial tutoring for learners with identified deficiencies.
Develop objective criteria for skills performance evaluation and participate in testing and analysis of educational tools.
Maintain current knowledge of evidence for the subjects taught.
Act as liaison with users of GC’s course curricula, providing hands‑on implementation.
Mentor adjunct and less experienced PET instructors, offering guidance and feedback.
Evaluate and contribute to the revision, editing, and updating of PET courses.
Assist in training and preparation of standardized patients (actors).
Develop or implement case‑based scenarios that test learner knowledge and skills through simulation and use of standardized patients.
Manage off‑site courses in Florida, the US, and possibly internationally.
Set up, break down, and put away equipment, furniture, etc., as required.
Assist in equipment and supply inventory maintenance.
Contribute as a member of at least one performance‑improvement committee.
Participate in GC presentations to a variety of audiences, including community, political, and medical.
Adhere to University and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Certification in a relevant specialty or field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
