Could you be the full-time AirTrain Recovery Technician in Newark we’re looking for?
Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your hands‑on expertise in a dynamic, safety‑critical environment. You’ll report to the Operations Supervisor (Newark) and work alongside a dedicated, proactive, and safety‑focused team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the AirTrain system. Day‑to‑day, you’ll work closely with operations and maintenance teams, respond to system failures, and perform manual interventions when needed. You’ll also conduct proactive inspections and minor corrective maintenance to keep everything running smoothly. You’ll specifically take care of recovering vehicles during system failures and restoring operations, but also inspecting subsystems and maintaining tools and work areas.
We’ll look to you for:
Responding to system failures and restoring train operations safely and efficiently
Operating trains, doors, switches, train control, and power distribution systems in manual mode when required
Performing proactive checks and inspections of subsystems (APM Rooms, Substations, etc.)
Carrying out minor corrective maintenance during inspections
Preparing reports and daily logs as needed
Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly manner
Observing all safety practices and Standard Operating Procedures

Technical aptitude or experience in transportation systems or mechanical/electrical environments
Understanding of safety protocols and operational procedures
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, 24/7 operational environment
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Familiarity with reporting and documentation practices
