Unit Description The Vascular Access Services (VAS) team specializes in safe, efficient, and skilled placement of vascular access devices such as PICCs, midlines, central lines, and ultrasound-guided IVs. The team ensures patients receive reliable vascular access to support IV medications, fluids, and nutrition, and focuses on advanced ultrasound-guided access, interdisciplinary collaboration, and troubleshooting line complications.

Responsibilities include following CDC sterile technique and isolation guidelines, using PPE and hand hygiene, managing patient venous access issues, prioritizing access based on patient needs, integrating into practice changes, providing patient teaching, and supporting departmental quality initiatives. Duties also involve performing, documenting procedures, evaluating patient history and complications, administering treatments, and participating in Code Blue and other emergencies.
Qualification Requirements
Associate degree in Nursing (Required) or Bachelor of Nursing (Required)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
Basic Life Support (BLS) – CPR Cert (BLS) – RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
Registered Nurse (RN) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
Pay Range $31.53 - $52.24
