We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Long Beach with a strong history of recent experience representing owners on capital programs, facility upgrades, renovations, and additions for both new and occupied healthcare facilities. The successful candidate will assume a role in our division managing Capital Program Management/Owner Representative assignments and will represent the owner and stakeholders as part of a high‑performing team delivering projects and programs for clients.

In this role the assistant project manager will work with the team to manage all phases of the project life cycle, including budgeting, planning, design, bidding, construction, commissioning, move‑management planning, and close‑out services.

Responsibilities

Monitor design and construction activities to ensure that all phases of work are done in accordance with contractual agreements and corporate quality standards.

Monitor, evaluate, and develop project budgets, cash‑flow analyses, and cost estimates, and review purchase orders, change orders, and invoices.

Forecast, identify, and address areas of potential liabilities and risks.

Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules to ensure objectives are met.

Maintain client, consultant, contractor, and vendor relationships and manage conflict resolution.

Communicate complex ideas, anticipate potential concerns and persuade others—including executive leadership—to adopt positions that facilitate project success.

Assist in the evaluation, development, and selection of standards, protocols, policies, and procedures to facilitate project success.

Provide guidance, direction, and instruction to less experienced team members and colleagues.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.

2‑5 years of owner‑representative or project‑management experience.

Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and track record in project‑management techniques, concepts, principles, and standards; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge and ability to creatively resolve issues as they arise.

Knowledge and ability to supervise people, including recruitment, training, performance management, and people development.

High proficiency with general Microsoft applications, including MS Project and SharePoint.

Experience with project‑management software and applications.

Ability to forecast project challenges and define solutions to maintain compliance with safety protocols, quality, schedule, and budget.

Compensation Range $78,837.35 - $105,116.46
