Join Our Team as a Surgery Department Customer Service Representative (CSR)! VCA Animal Specialty & Emergency Center (ASEC) is a multi‑specialty and emergency practice located in West Los Angeles.

Who We Are We are a cornerstone of the community for over 15 years, providing services such as Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging (CT, Fluoroscopy), and Cardiology.

Why We Need You As a CSR you help our clients and animals during their worst days, provide the first point of trust, and support our team in delivering outstanding care.

Responsibilities

Warmly greet clients in person or over the phone.

Handle telephone calls, texts, emails, WOOFware and Teams messages.

Manage patient check‑ins, appointment scheduling, and confirmations.

Explain treatment‑plan fees and invoicing to clients.

Provide information about products and services, including medical vs. non‑medical pet care.

Offer alternate payment methods to clients.

Manage patient records for appointments.

Oversee electronic medical records, reports, and correspondence.

Ensure appointments, records, and electronic payments are well‑organized.

Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning in veterinary administration.

Make quality decisions to choose the most appropriate course of action.

Develop excellent listening and communication skills with management, doctors, clients, and associates.

Participate in webinars and other continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

3+ years of client service experience (preferably in a medical, dental, or veterinary setting).

Strong attention to detail, reliability, and emotional intelligence.

Exceptional verbal communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and manage well under pressure.

Computer literate and able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Experience in veterinary medicine or a related specialty is a plus.

Hourly pay: $20–$24 per hour (negotiable based on experience).

10‑hour shift.

Weekends and holidays as needed.

Day shift preferred.

Location & Relocation In‑person work in Los Angeles, CA 90025. Prefer candidates who can reliably commute or are planning to relocate before start.

Additional Information This position will involve working weekend days. We utilize a 4‑day work week (each shift 10 hours).
