Summary The primary function for this position is to ensure timely collection, analysis, and communication of clinical data for chart abstracted measures, registries, accreditations, and certifications as identified by the organization.
Essential Job Functions
Responsible for abstraction, analysis, and submission of data to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, CMS conditions of participation, payor requirements, and medical staff bylaws.
Identifies and communicates patterns and trends of data and opportunities for improvement to site‑based teams and quality leaders.
Serves as a subject matter expert to site teams regarding individual measures and data definitions.
Participates in data verification and validation to ensure accuracy, integrity and inter‑rater reliability of all data elements.
Participates in quality improvement activities that promote patient safety and address opportunities identified in the abstraction, analysis or synthesis process.
Participates in ongoing education to ensure application of current data definitions.

Employment Qualifications Education:
Bachelors Degree in Nursing or other clinical area. Preferred: Masters Degree.
Licensing/Certification:
Registered Nurse required. Preferred: CPHQ.
Minimum Years and Type of Experience in abstraction or:
3–5 years.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
EPIC, Microsoft Office including Excel.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred:
QMR, data abstraction, EPIC chart review and analysis.
Combination of post‑secondary education and experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
