Studio Operations Manager, Shopbop – Madison, OH Amazon is looking for an experienced Studio Operations Manager to supervise the Studio Operations team in a commercial photography studio environment. As the Studio Operations Manager you oversee a team that handles the workflow of high volumes of products used for creative and marketing content between fulfillment centers, the studio, and our external partners. You are responsible for short‑ and long‑term operational planning, including allocating labor, assigning job duties, and leading team meetings. You plan to ensure capacity meets demand, create contingency plans, and react quickly to changing priorities based on product volume and needs. You set daily production goals and ensure resources are in place to meet targets, coordinating directly with multiple teams to ensure seamless planning for products required for content creation.

As a leader in the studio you ensure standard operating procedures are followed, identify inefficiencies in workflows, and drive a culture of continuous improvement while motivating a team of people to deliver results. You provide assistance and guidance on inventory management, troubleshooting, and process implementation while collaborating with peers to share best practices and deliver innovative process procedures that can scale at high volumes.

Key Job Responsibilities

Day-to‑day management and direction of the Studio Operations team, including supervision, mentoring, training, development, and performance management

Follow and enforce all policies, procedures, and guidelines

Handle team schedules, time‑off requests, and employee time cards

Participate in and lead staffing and workforce planning

Plan and oversee the flow of inventory through all stages of content workflows

Analyze and capture reporting on key productivity and quality metrics

Utilize reporting to deep‑dive data to redefine workflows that meet or exceed operational goals

Promote a culture of continuous improvement

Build and maintain knowledge‑management tools such as wikis and shared drives

Manage end‑to‑end success of one‑off high‑touch or ambiguous requests

Mitigate immediate risks and decide if they can be handled or need to be escalated

About the Team The Studio Operations inventory team is responsible for handling, prepping, and overall inventory management of products used for site marketing, influencer, and social content creation. Qualifications

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint)

Experience mentoring, coaching, and influencing colleagues, collaborators, and stakeholders

Experience leading process improvements

Can work proactively and independently, meeting deadlines and delivering on projects and tasks

Experience working and contributing to project playbooks, building schedules, managing issues/risks, establishing communication plans, and stakeholder management

Experience in a customer‑focused field or business

Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of equivalent work experience in a high‑production operations environment, preferably in the retail industry with an emphasis on designer fashion products

Leadership skills necessary for hiring employees, resolving conflicts, and keeping employees on task and motivated

Can quickly learn a range of proprietary systems

Clear and concise verbal and written communication

Experience using data reporting or tools to measure performance

Experience prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities

An awareness and interest in the Shopbop brand, the content we produce, and the brands we carry

Previous experience in a photo studio or other fashion‑based operations environment

The base pay for this position ranges from $66,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
