Pay Range

Base salary: $121,585.00/yr – $158,062.00/yr (GS‑13, Step 1 to Step 10)

Additional compensation will be based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary Maintenance Test Pilot overseeing the maintenance testing program for AMO locations.

Provide technical guidance, review of tests, workload acceptance, and related AMO evaluations.

Determine goals and objectives for normal and special emphasis plans and work schedules.

Identify necessary components of a maintenance flight test team, secure resources, and oversee full test execution.

Implement recommendations for improving related training.

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship required; selective‑service registration for males born after 12/31/1959.

Minimum of 1,750 total flight hours: 1,150 pilot‑in‑command, 75 night flight hours, 100 flight hours within last 12 months.

Maintenance Manager / Maintenance Test Pilot Course or equivalency evaluation.

FAA Medical Certificate Class I or II valid through closing date.

Qualified on the aircraft to be flown and meet standardization requirements of the applicable Army Training Manual.

Experience equivalent to GS‑12 level with responsibilities such as technical guidance on test programs, test design, budgeting, analysis, and flight operations.

Other Requirements

Pass a thorough background investigation.

Must comply with CBP’s drug‑free workplace plan and E‑Verify.

Physical demands include long‑term standing, bending, crouching, and operating in high‑temperature conditions, with exposure to aircraft and boat operations.

Possible requirement for Secret clearance and completion of a flight‑test course.
