PT- Special Projects Analyst (NIBIN)

Job Objective
The Special Projects Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) leads and hits are accurately entered and kept current in Analyst’s Notebook. The position also supports the Crime Analysis Unit by performing additional analytical and administrative tasks as needed. This work is carried out after the Analyst has completed the required training or refresher training in IBIS data entry and has been cross‑trained with other Analysts within the Crime Analysis Unit.
This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities
typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field, plus one (1) year of experience in statistical research, data analysis, mapping, or a related area. One (1) year of demonstrated advanced‑level Microsoft Excel experience is required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Additional Requirements
Ability to complete required training and certification related to NIBIN, IBIS, and Analyst’s Notebook.
Willingness to cross‑train with other analysts within the Crime Analysis Unit.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive law enforcement information.
Ability to pass required background checks and meet applicable security clearance standards.
Availability to perform additional duties as assigned in support of unit operations.
