Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Fellowship Coordinator for its Detroit campus. Wayne State is a premier, public, urban research university located in the heart of Detroit, Michigan where students from all backgrounds are offered a rich, high–quality education.
Position Purpose The Fellowship Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all operational aspects and overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the assigned fellowship program in the Wayne State University Graduate Medical Education (GME) Office. They ensure compliance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) program guidelines and that program objectives are met, while identifying gaps and making recommendations for program improvement.
Essential Functions Responsible for coordinating all operational aspects of the fellowship program, including participation in the fellowship recruitment and selection process.
Oversee day‑to‑day program reporting. Maintain and update case logs; coordinate fellowship evaluations, duty hours, conference attendance, etc. Evaluate successful completion of medical fellows’ requirements.
Serve as a member of the Clinical Competency Committee, participating in remediation processes when there is non‑compliance, determining fellows’ ability to continue training.
Serve as a liaison between the GME Office Leadership and Program Directors, Fellows and Departmental Program Coordinators.
Create and submit reports that maintain program certification with GME and ACGME offices.
Create communication plans, manage the marketing function of the fellowship program, develop website content, newsletters, recruitment materials, and prepare presentations and slides for training or marketing purposes.
Lead department special projects, apply project‑management methodology, schedule training, work with vendors and presenters, oversee implementation, and create course evaluations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in health care administration or related field from an accredited college/university (or equivalent combination of education and/or experience).
Experience: Minimum 2 years of job‑related experience in an academic healthcare environment. Experience in the operational activities of GME office environments, AAMC and LCME regulations, leading projects preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of GME and ACGME policies and procedures. Self‑motivated, decision‑making skills, ability to prioritize and plan work, strong organizational skills, effective communication, customer service, analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and website software, database knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications H06 – School of Medicine; Primary department H0611 – Neurology.
Employment Type Regular Employee; Fractional Time; Job category: Staff/Administrative.
Compensation
Hourly Wage: $19,912.40 – $23,895.60.
Working Conditions Normal office environment.
