Summary Manages the daily operations of a comprehensive Adult Echocardiography service line to ensure alignment with program and organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
Determines, coordinates, and manages daily staffing assignments and staffing levels.
Trains, coaches, and evaluates assigned staff on performance expectations.
Assists with departmental QA/QI and other program initiatives.
Assists with equipment quality control testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Ensures proper working order of equipment.
Performs advanced diagnostic imaging (3D, myocardial mechanics, mechanical circulatory support devices, transcatheter therapies, etc.) and serves as a trainer and expert resource for cardiac sonographers, cardiac fellows, and physician staff.
Communicates regularly with the department director(s) to determine future needs, concerns, and issues pertinent to the operations.
Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagement.
Coordinates patient care with other members of the healthcare team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
Oversees inventory and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies.

Accredited Program: Ultrasound Technologist (Required)
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) - Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
Additional Job Information
Complexity of Work: This role requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to build and foster positive relationships. The incumbent must be able to lead others and take appropriate action when required.
Required Work Experience: Five years of adult imaging experience in a hospital setting.
Other Information: Can be registered as a diagnostic cardiac sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or registered cardiac sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing Institute (CCI).
Additional Education Info: Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound imaging program.
Additional Credential Info: Registered as a diagnostic cardiac sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); Registered Cardiac Sonographer by the Cardiovascular Credentialing Institute (CCI).
