Advertised Job Summary The Koger Center for the Arts is accepting applications for Assistant Box Office Manager. This position will work with all aspects of box office operations and will administer the Box Office Ticketing system.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 6 years related box office experience. Prior experience in a performing arts box office is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Working knowledge of computerized ticketing system.
Cash handling experience to include balancing back to daily reports.
Supervisory experience required.
Prior customer service experience required.
Job Duties Job Duty:
Assist the Box Office Manager in the coordination of all box office operations for the Koger Center. Calls for maintaining proper staffing levels of approximately 10‑12 part‑time employees. Employee must accurately build events in the in‑house ticketing system accounting for all ticket prices and discounts as requested by event promoter. Must communicate with promoters on a regular basis providing ticket counts and accommodating their ticketing needs. Ensures a satisfied and well‑informed public. Requires excellent customer service and problem‑solving skills.
Job Duty:
Assist with the accounting and balancing of all tickets sold on a daily basis. Using the in‑house ticketing system, employee must balance all ticket sellers to their individual cash reports. Employee will assist part‑time staff with possible key‑entry errors that result in a sales imbalance. Employee will prepare bank deposits for submission to bank.
Job Duty:
Part‑time staff training and PCI Compliance assistance. Employee will personally evaluate each box‑office seller’s readiness to begin selling tickets to the public unassisted. Employee will develop training scenarios to properly challenge the ticket seller to learn and understand how to sell tickets as well as how to deal with the general public. Exceptional customer service is the goal. Ensure that all areas of the Box Office are in compliance under PCI regulations. This includes regular inspection of workstations, annual training of P/T ticket sellers via CampusGuard testing and security of all written documentation containing cardholder data.
Job Duty:
Acts as System Administrator of the ticketing system. Employee is responsible for the coordination of any software upgrade installs. Employee monitors all system processes and is responsible for training staff following any system upgrades. Employee regularly participates in system software training to ensure that he/she is up to date on all processes and can pass that training onto the box‑office staff. Employee regularly communicates with the ticketing system parent company (developers of the software) to ensure that all reporting needs are being met by the system. Employee reports any and all program errors as it pertains to the audits of ticketed events and sees the corrections of those errors to their completion. Employee is responsible to audit all aspects of the KogerCenterforthearts.com website to ensure accuracy of event information, event ticket prices, and all applicable service charges.
