Scope The Warehouse Team Lead is a critical frontline leadership role responsible for translating daily production plans into safe, accurate, and on‑time execution. This position serves as the connection point between hourly associates and warehouse leadership, ensuring work is completed efficiently, compliantly, and with a high level of accountability. It is ideal for a hands‑on leader who enjoys being on the floor, coaching teams in real time, and driving results in a fast‑paced distribution environment, especially during peak season.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead and oversee daily warehouse activities to ensure orders are processed accurately and shipped/received on time
Direct influence over productivity, accuracy, safety, and employee engagement
Responsible for executing daily production priorities while maintaining compliance with customer, vendor, and company requirements
Set priorities and expectations, measuring results against set objectives such as production and quality
Assign work, set priorities, and adjust labor throughout the shift to meet production and service goals
Support employee development through hands‑on training, follow‑up, and documentation
Ensure all warehouse processes are executed in accordance with company policies, SOPs, and customer/vendor compliance requirements
Promote and enforce safe work practices, including proper lifting, equipment use, housekeeping, and ergonomic awareness
Escalate issues related to quality, safety, or compliance as appropriate
Utilize multiple Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to set up, track, and complete tasks
Partner with supervisors and cross‑functional teams to align resources and resolve workflow challenges
Support onboarding, new‑hire training, conflict resolution, and performance documentation
Additional responsibilities may include tasks such as conflict resolution and counseling, job performance documentation, etc.
Additional responsibilities as needed to support daily operations and team performance
Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required
3–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, distribution, or inventory control, with demonstrated progression into leadership responsibilities
Minimum 2 years of lead experience directing teams in a warehouse or distribution environment
Demonstrated success leading and influencing teams in a fast‑paced, high‑volume operation
Proven experience assigning work, setting shift‑level priorities, and holding associates accountable to production, quality, and safety expectations
Experience providing real‑time coaching, training, and corrective feedback to reinforce standard work and performance expectations
Strong communication skills, including clearly setting expectations, delivering feedback, and escalating issues appropriately
Consistently models professional behavior and leads by example on the warehouse floor
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience navigating Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), using RF scanning devices, and performing accurate data entry
Comfortable using company communication tools (Microsoft Teams) to support daily coordination and execution
Strong math, verbal, and literacy skills with a solid understanding of operational instructions
Works independently with minimal supervision and exercises sound judgment within established guidelines
Comfortable standing or walking for extended periods (8+ hours)
Regularly lifts, pushes, or pulls up to 30 pounds throughout the workday (other physically demanding tasks may be required)
Forklift or other material‑handling equipment experience preferred
Demonstrates strong collaboration skills, a solid work ethic, and commitment to team success
Reliable attendance and consistent job performance
Full availability required during the peak holiday period (October through December), including Thanksgiving week and December weekends. Candidates who are unavailable during these periods will not be considered, as this is a company‑wide blackout policy.
The successful candidate will receive a conditional offer, contingent upon the successful completion of a background check conducted by our contracted third‑party vendor. The specific clearance requirements vary by position and may include one or more of the following: criminal background check, credit check, employment verification, education verification, and driver’s abstract review.
