Part‑Time Coordinator I, Student Life – Inside Higher Ed
Location: LSC‑Tomball
Purpose and Scope The PT Coordinator I, Student Life is responsible for coordinating general functions in Student Life. Functions may include coordination of service, purchasing, delivery of materials, events, or resources. The Coordinator may track budget expenditures and assist with special projects assigned by the Office of Student Life.
Essential Job Functions
Schedules events and meetings; maintains Student Life activities and special events calendars
Assesses student needs to guide the development of Student Life events
Coordinates catering, technology, and facilities needs for events
Purchases supplies and promotional specialty items for the Office and student organizations
Assists in budget planning by tracking expenditures and monitoring student organizations’ budgets
Assists student organizations in completing travel and event paperwork
Maintains the Student Life website and assists with event advertising
Promotes development of student organizations and provides training for members and sponsors
Disseminates Student Life information; creates flyers and maintains bulletin boards
Performs other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency with office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
Exemplary people and communication skills
Ability to create and display PowerPoint presentations
Time management and strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and respond promptly
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to build and maintain relationships and serve a diverse population
Can work independently, maintain confidentiality, and prioritize own work
Physical and Work Environment The work is sedentary, with occasional walking, standing, bending, and light carrying. Work is performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary and Benefits Hourly Pay Rate is $17.58.
