The MPS Assistant Project Manager is responsible for providing overall administrative and construction support for our Program Management team.
What You’ll Do
Manage all aspects of project documentation including submittals, RFIs, and project meeting minutes.
Supervise and direct overall project activities as assigned by the Head of Programs, including planning, coordinating, resolving problem areas, and ensuring all company/project policies, procedures and standards are maintained.
Maintain change order, submittal, and document (drawing) control logs; prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings.
Create contract submittals that are accurate and timely for submission review.
Issue contractor contracts and deliver Owner and Maintenance Manuals on time.
Monitor the project quality control plan to ensure it is being followed and document issues for corrective action.
Coordinate with subcontractors to obtain correct documentation and drawings for the Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
Ensure the Warranty Log is up to date.
Represent the company/project in meetings with clients, subcontractors, etc.
Cooperate with and technically assist field personnel assigned to your area of responsibility.
Monitor other contractors' activities and progress.
Create Job Information Sheets and establish Job Files.
Assume total project supervision responsibilities in the Program Manager’s absence.
Prepare price change orders and project reports and documentation.
Work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information.
What You Bring to Us
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related discipline (preferred).
Minimum 1 year of experience in a construction‑related role.
A combination of education, training and relevant experience is acceptable.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment and methods required.
Strong organizational, record‑keeping and follow‑up skills.
Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
Ability to identify and meet customers’ expectations and requirements.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle is preferred.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Self‑motivated, proactive and an effective team player.
Ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients and others.
Working Conditions
General work environment: sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending; primarily indoors with fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
Noise level is usually low to medium.
Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
