Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC‑R) Technology Instructor Full‑time, 12‑month position located at the Tyson Family Center for Technology Campus in Monroe, NC. Under the direction of the Construction Technology Programs Director, the HVAC‑R Technology Instructor is responsible for curriculum development, instruction, and assessment of the College's HVAC‑R Technology program of study. Licenses and/or certifications for credentialing must be kept current by the employee, unless otherwise communicated. Essential Duties Teach between 26 and 30 hours per week each semester (fall, spring, summer). Develop course curriculum and maintain updated materials and resources. Maintain office hours as appropriate to ensure accessibility to students and colleagues. Maintain current licensure, certification, or other professional credentials required for the position. Remain current with developments in the industry and instructional best practices. Participate in continuous program improvement through assessment of learning outcomes. Contribute to program budgets and forecast staffing, equipment, and supplies needs. Engage in learner recruitment activities (open houses, tours, information sessions). Participate in College committees and activities. Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, innovation, collaboration, and institutional commitment in all actions. Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, Associate Vice President, or Vice President. Assignments may be scheduled across the College’s campuses and locations, including in‑person or online during various times. Required Qualifications Associate’s degree in HVAC‑R Technology from an accredited institution. CFC Certification. Heating Contractor Group 3 licensure. Four years of full‑time equivalent work experience in the HVAC‑R field. OR Documentation of significant experience or contributions to the discipline. CFC Certification. Heating Contractor Group 3 licensure. Six years of full‑time equivalent work experience in the HVAC‑R field. Technical and performance competency or other qualifying credentials. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in HVAC‑R or related field. Experience teaching at the secondary or post‑secondary level. Experience developing course curricula. Evidence of effective problem‑solving, critical thinking, and decision‑making skills. Ability to multi‑task and manage high‑pressure situations.
