Purpose of the Role The Volunteer Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for members, guests, and community visitors. This position plays a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming environment. The receptionist supports the church’s mission by providing friendly assistance, managing front desk communication, and helping with light administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities Warmly greet and welcome members, guests, and visitors entering the church office. Be able to make outgoing calls Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate ministry or staff member. Take accurate messages and ensure they are delivered promptly. Provide general information about church services, ministries, and events. Maintain an inviting and organized reception area. Manage visitor sign-in procedures and ensure a sense of safety and hospitality. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions. Monitor the security screens (coming soon!) Qualifications A welcoming and compassionate spirit. Able to take acute accountability Friendly and professional communication skills, both in person and by phone. Dependable, punctual, and willing to serve scheduled shifts. Comfortable with basic office equipment (phones, copier, computer). Able to maintain confidentiality and uphold church values. Teachable and willing to follow office and ministry procedures.
