This contract opportunity offers night shift hours from 7 PM to 7 AM in a brand-new unit focused on med-surg orthopedic spine care. Engage in a supportive team environment caring for patients undergoing total joint and spine procedures, including managing traction and adhering to joint precautions. Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a 34-bed med-surg ortho spine unit Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team consisting of RNs, CNAs, patient care technicians, and care nurse coordinators Utilize Meditech EMR system for accurate documentation and patient monitoring Implement care plans that include handling spine, hip, and joint precautions Maintain patient safety with appropriate traction equipment management Foster a compassionate and team-oriented environment to promote optimal patient outcomes Qualifications: Current RN license with med-surg and orthopedic experience preferred Familiarity with traction and post-operative orthopedic joint precautions highly desirable Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage a typical patient ratio of 6:1 Effective communication and teamwork capabilities Outgoing personality coupled with compassion for patients and colleagues Location Insights:Wichita, KS, offers a welcoming community atmosphere with a blend of urban amenities and friendly Midwestern charm.
