Deliver compassionate, specialized care in a Neurosurgical unit located in Saint Louis, MO. This contract opportunity involves working night shifts, focusing on patients with neurological conditions including stroke, seizures, MS, and other neurosurgical diagnoses. You will be integral in providing high-quality care, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring patient confidentiality and rights are upheld. Key responsibilities include: Utilizing the nursing process to deliver comprehensive care for neuro-surgical patients Monitoring and evaluating patient condition and care plans Collaborating with other healthcare professionals for coordinated patient management Occasionally assuming charge nurse responsibilities (training provided) Adhering to established clinical guidelines and maintaining documentation through EPIC EMR Qualifications and experience: Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 1 year of inpatient acute care experience in Medical Surgical and Neurosurgical units Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required Ability to maintain patient ratios of approximately 1:5-6 Proficiency with patient care equipment including FIT testing on site Strong team-oriented mindset with a patient-focused approach Willingness to work night shift (7p-7:30a) and every other weekend Additional details: Contract duration: 13 to 26 weeks Weekly guaranteed hours: 36, with option to increase to 48 Flu vaccination required November through April (client-approved exemptions) Dress code: Black scrubs mandatory Saint Louis is a vibrant city known for its rich history, cultural landmarks, and affordable living.
