A night shift opportunity is available for an experienced registered nurse specializing in medical-surgical and neuro-surgical care. This role focuses on delivering compassionate, skilled care to patients recovering from neurological conditions such as stroke, seizures, MS, and neurosurgical procedures on a dedicated unit. The position offers a contract duration of 13 to 26 weeks, providing stability and the chance to contribute expertise in a dynamic healthcare environment. Location: Situated in Ballwin, MO, this role serves a hospital known for its commitment to advanced neuroscience care and patient-centered services. Ballwin offers a family-friendly suburban setting with convenient access to cultural, recreational, and dining options in the greater St. Louis area. Schedule and Hours: Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM 36 guaranteed hours per week, with the option to increase to 48 hours Weekend coverage expected approximately every other weekend Holiday work required, with at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years Day) Qualifications and Desired Experience: Minimum 1 year inpatient acute care experience, specifically in Medical-Surgical and Neurosurgical units Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required Willingness to float within scope as needed Preparedness to take on occasional Charge Nurse responsibilities (training provided) Strong teamwork and patient-focused attitude essential Responsibilities: Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive care to neuro-surgical patients Coordinate care collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams Maintain patient rights and confidentiality Participate in ongoing assessment and quality improvement initiatives Utilize EPIC EMR system and comply with FIT testing requirements Black scrubs are the designated attire for this unit, supporting a professional and unified appearance.
