A healthcare opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings. This position involves providing critical care to patients requiring complex monitoring and treatment in a fast-paced environment. The role is a contract assignment based in Staten Island, NY, with a schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Qualifications / Desired Experience: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from an accredited nursing school. Active RN license to practice in New York State or by reciprocity. Minimum of three years of ICU experience preferred. Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS. Preferred but not required: CCRN and TNCC certifications. Skilled in managing patients with external ventricular drains, multiple medication drips, and specialized monitoring devices such as Hemosphere Flotrac. Experienced in trauma care across varying severities. Proficient in conducting assessments using CAM, CPOT, and RASS scales. Knowledgeable in hypothermia treatment and pleurevac chest tube drainage care. Familiarity with Allscript electronic medical records system and PCA pump use. Commitment to strict isolation protocols and hospital-specific critical care standards. Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU. Perform accurate patient assessments and maintain close monitoring. Manage complex medication regimens and utilize advanced medical equipment. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans. Adhere strictly to safety and infection control procedures.
