A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nursing. This role requires proficiency in Level 3 and Level 4 NICU patient care within a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing critically ill neonates with a variety of complex diagnoses and advanced technological monitoring. Location:

Qualifications and Desired Experience: Minimum 2 years of Level 3 and/or Level 4 NICU nursing experience Current RN licensure with BLS and NRP certifications Strong comfort managing high acuity patients in a fast-paced setting Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system preferred Skills in advanced neonatal care techniques including management of ventilators, invasive lines, vasoactive drips, and neonatal monitoring devices Ability to perform bedside procedures and manage complex clinical scenarios such as respiratory distress syndrome, congenital heart defects, seizures, and sepsis Flexibility to float within neonatal and pediatric units as needed Manager approval required for first-time travelers Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates within a Level 3/4 NICU unit Monitor and manage devices such as EVDs, ICP monitors, ventilators, and feeding tubes Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including intensivists, respiratory therapists, and clinical supervisors Participate in ongoing education and quality improvement initiatives Adhere to all safety, infection control, and sterile technique standards Work a schedule that includes weekends, holiday rotations, and potential floating assignments Shifts are scheduled in 12-hour blocks with day and night rotations Perks: Supportive multidisciplinary team and leadership State-of-the-art technology and equipment Opportunity to work in a teaching hospital with a broad range of neonatal diagnoses No on-call expectations with possible floating to similar units Comprehensive orientation and ongoing educational support This contract assignment offers the chance to apply your NICU expertise in a vibrant hospital setting while experiencing life in the Gastonia area.
