An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with specialized Cardiac/CVICU ICU experience to support critical care in a short-term acute care setting. This contract role requires a commitment to delivering expert care in a high-acuity environment, working with advanced cardiac support devices and complex patient conditions. Location: Position is based in the Saint Charles area, providing access to a region known for its vibrant community, quality healthcare infrastructure, and a blend of suburban and urban living options. Schedule: Night shifts, 4x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30) Options to sign for 36 or 48 hours weekly Contract length: Preferred 16 weeks, minimum 13 weeks Qualifications and Experience: Registered Nurse (RN) with a current license (pending licenses accepted) Minimum 2 years of cardiac/CVICU ICU experience (neuro ICU experience not accepted) Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, BSN Proficiency in management of ventilators, arterial lines, pulmonary artery catheters, pacemakers, Impellas, balloon pumps, LVADs Experience in acute heart failure, cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, vasoactive drip management, central lines, dialysis, and cardiac assist devices Must pass a Relias EKG exam prior to starting Ability to float within the service line as needed Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with complex cardiac conditions Monitor and manage advanced hemodynamic support devices and vasoactive medications Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC charting system Additional Details: Weekend shifts required every other week Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility to qualify Up to 2 approved time-off requests allowed, capped at 40 hours total This contract is ideal for nurses ready to enhance their cardiac critical care expertise within a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital environment.
