Exceptional opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with Med/Surg and Telemetry expertise in a dynamic hospital setting in Charlotte, NC. This contract role involves caring for complex neurological and cardiac patients in a Level I Trauma and Magnet-designated hospital, offering a stimulating environment for clinical growth and skill refinement. Location Overview:Charlotte, NC, is a vibrant city known for its rich history, cultural attractions, and thriving healthcare sector. Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with neurological conditions such as ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, seizures, encephalopathy, and related diagnoses. Manage cardiac rhythms, tracheostomy care, peripheral intravenous starts, chest tube and drain management, and nasogastric tube placement. Administer and monitor medication drips including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and intravenous fluids. Utilize EPIC electronic medical records and operate clinical equipment including Alaris IV pumps and Phillips monitors. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including CNAs, hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and charge nurses. Float between hospital facilities within the region as needed, maintaining flexibility to meet patient care demands. Qualifications/Desired Experience: Minimum two years experience as a Med/Surg/Telemetry RN, preferably with neurological patient care. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required. Strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation and management of various drains and tubes. Ability to manage high-acuity patients with ratios from 1:4 to 1:8, depending on staffing. Managerial approval required if neuro experience is limited; stroke care experience strongly preferred. Willingness to float within the regional hospital network. Schedule/Hours: Weekend rotation approximately every other weekend. No on-call requirements for travelers. Holiday work expected at 75% commitment. Approved requests for time off may extend contract length. Benefits and Perks: Free parking available.
