The unit offers an engaging clinical setting with robust support from a dedicated team and state-of-the-art equipment, including balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), hypothermia treatment, and ECMO. Location: Newton, KS As part of the ICU team, you will deliver exceptional care to trauma patients, post-CABG, post-TAVR, and other general post-surgical ICU patients. You will manage complex procedures such as chest tube care, central line maintenance, and medication drip administration. The patient-to-nurse ratio typically ranges from 1:2, with 1:1 care for high-acuity cases, ensuring focused and thorough attention per patient. Key Qualifications and Experience: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required) Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) certification (required) National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification (preferred) Proven experience in ICU nursing, especially with trauma and post-surgical patients Familiarity with electronic medical records, particularly Meditech Strong organizational skills, efficiency, and a positive, engaged attitude Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care in the ICU with a focus on critical and post-operative patients Monitor and manage advanced life-support equipment Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to unit guidelines and policies Newton, Kansas offers a welcoming community with small-town charm and easy access to larger metropolitan areas, making it an attractive location for both work and lifestyle.
