General Manager 5 – Food Services

to oversee food and nutrition operations at

NYC Health + Hospitals / Woodhull , a 250-bed acute care facility located in

Brooklyn, New York . This role supports one of Sodexo’s largest healthcare contracts nationwide and plays a key role in advancing innovative, plant-based and wellness-focused dining programs.

As the

General Manager 5 , you will provide strategic and hands‑on leadership for all food service operations while serving as a primary point of contact for hospital leadership. You will lead, mentor, and engage a union workforce of approximately 40 employees, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional dining experience for patients, staff, and visitors.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong client engagement, operational expertise, and a passion for improving health through sustainable, nutritious food.

What You’ll Do

Lead daily food service operations across patient, retail, and catering services

Champion innovative plant‑based and wellness‑driven menu programs

Manage financial performance, budgets, labor, and cost controls

Foster strong relationships with hospital leadership and key stakeholders

Lead, coach, and develop a unionized workforce, promoting engagement and accountability

Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and Sodexo standards

Drive patient satisfaction, service excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives

What You Bring

5+ years of General Manager–level experience in healthcare food service

Proven success managing unionized teams

Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and labor models

Demonstrated ability to drive employee engagement and retention

Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, team‑oriented leadership style

Passion for health, wellness, and sustainable food initiatives
