Description Key Responsibilities

Safely operate and navigate crew boats in compliance with company and U.S. Coast Guard regulations.

Escort passengers on and off the vessel, ensuring safety and comfort.

Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard‑free work environment on the boat.

Perform routine checks, including hatches and tie‑offs, to ensure vessel readiness.

Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and other captains.

Represent Turn Services professionally in all customer and agency interactions.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to work 12-hour shifts and remain calm under pressure.

Strong decision‑making skills, dependability, and attention to detail.

Must meet all U.S. Coast Guard requirements for marine documents and licenses for Crew Boat Captain.

Education

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Work Environment

Exposure to varying weather conditions (hot, cold, rain) and moderate‑to‑high noise levels.

Work at different elevations and in physically demanding conditions.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive motion.

Must wear PPE (hard hat, eyewear, safety vest, gloves, steel‑toe boots).

Ability to exert:

100 lbs. occasionally

50 lbs. frequently

20 lbs. constantly

Certifications/Licenses

Master of Self‑Propelled Vessels

TWIC

Radio License

Preferred Skills

Proficiency in MS Office and computer‑based tools.

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multi‑task, adapt, and work in a team‑oriented environment.

Decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities
