We are looking for an experienced and motivated Payroll Processing Specialist who will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations for over 3,000 employees across multiple states. This position will be a part of the Payroll Operations group based in Houston, TX and is responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, compliance, and employee support.

Responsible for service quality, customer orientation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement of processes related to payroll operations.

Process biweekly payroll for 3,000+ employees across various states, including pay adjustments, special payments, and employee-initiated changes (e.g., deductions, tax updates, direct deposit options).

Review, balance, and distribute payroll checks and reports.

Calculate and prepare manual checks as needed.

Garnishment/Tax Levy set ups and management.

Provide payroll-related support to Human Resources and employees, ensuring excellent customer service.

Deliver specialized knowledge, propose exceptions when appropriate, and ensure issues are addressed and resolved promptly.

Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to meet strict deadlines.

Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred; or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum of 2 years of corporate payroll processing experience.

General knowledge of payroll principles, including overtime and tax withholding calculations.

Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.

Strong problem-solving and mathematical abilities.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Exceptional communication skills (oral, written, and listening).

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Commitment to meeting strict daily deadlines and delivering high-quality results.

Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Workday payroll system.
