We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking Gas Seasonal Inspectors to work at various locations in SE Wisconsin. This position is represented by We Energies L2006 Union.

Our seasons reoccur every year running approximately March – December and we offer a competitive salary, starting at $31.04/hour. We focus on safety and reliability for our customers as our top goals every day. A position as a Gas Seasonal Inspector is a great opportunity to join our organization. We have an extensive training program for this position to help ensure your success. Employees in these roles most often move to full time positions in gas operations or other areas of the company such as a warehouse, power plant, or office environment. This position has a direct impact on the energy that people in our communities use every day.

Job Responsibilities

Inspecting, overseeing, and coordinating the installation, maintenance, alteration, and replacement of gas mains and services and all paperwork.

Completion of projects in a timely and cost-effective manner in accordance with We Energies, federal, and state standards.

Before the start of a service or main installation, make sure that the necessary paperwork, such as construction drawings, easements, permits, and Digger's Hotline ticket numbers have been received.

Maintaining a safe work zone.

Minimum Qualifications

Gas Seasonal Inspectors must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle to travel to and from job sites.

Preferred Qualifications

Construction experience

Knowledge of the gas industry

Testing Requirements Gas Operations Test (GOT): DAT-Mechanical Reasoning – Ability to understand mechanic concepts. DAT-Space Relations – Ability to visualize forms in space. DAT-Numerical – Assessment designed to measure an individual's understanding of numerical relationships and facility in handling numerical concepts. PPM-Perceptual Reasoning – Measures your ability to rotate objects and assemble multiple objects in space. NEO-PI3 – Personality measure.

Gas Inspector Structured Interview (GASINSP): Competencies include: Quality Orientation; Safety Awareness; Building Customer Loyalty; Decision Making; Applied Learning; and Communication Skills.

Salary Pay Range: $31.04 – $33.95 per hour. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
