Job Overview We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented paralegal with 2-10 years of experience in construction defect litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in paralegal duties, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field
2-10 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on construction defect litigation
Proficiency in legal research and writing
Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and deadlines
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications
Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Key Responsibilities
Case Management:
Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal
Manage case files and maintain accurate and up-to-date records
Coordinate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel
Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
Monitor and calendar important dates and deadlines
Document Management:
Organize and maintain electronic and physical document databases
Review and analyze construction documents, contracts, and correspondence
Prepare document indices and summaries
Assist in document production and manage document review processes
Legal Research and Writing:
Conduct legal research on construction defect and litigation-related issues
Draft legal memoranda, briefs, and other legal documents
Assist in preparing expert witness reports and exhibits
Summarize deposition transcripts and prepare deposition summaries
Discovery and Investigation:
Assist in preparing and responding to discovery requests
Coordinate site inspections and document reviews
Interview witnesses and gather relevant information
Prepare chronologies and timelines of events
Trial Preparation:
Assist in preparing trial exhibits and demonstrative aids
Organize and maintain trial notebooks and files
Coordinate with expert witnesses and prepare them
