The Opportunity We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cable Plant Drafter to create and maintain accurate drawings and documentation for our telecommunications infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the design and installation of cable plant systems.

Responsibilities

Create detailed drawings of cable plant layouts, including fiber optic and copper networks

Develop and maintain accurate as-built documentation for existing cable plant infrastructure

Prepare schematic diagrams, floor plans, and site layouts for cable installations

Use CAD software to produce high-quality technical drawings and blueprints

Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field technicians to gather and interpret technical information

Ensure compliance with industry and customer standards, local codes, and specifications

Perform site surveys to collect data for new designs or updates to existing infrastructure

Maintain an organized database of drawings, specifications, and related documents

Assist in the creation of bill of materials (BOM) for cable plant projects

Support the development of project proposals and cost estimates

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience

5+ years of related work experience

TS/SCI with Poly required

Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software

Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and cabling systems

Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for cable plant design

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drawing production

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and blueprints

Basic understanding of GIS concepts and applications

Desired

Experience with specialized telecom design software (e.g., Bentley, OSPInsight)

Familiarity with fiber optic network design principles

Knowledge of outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) cabling systems

Experience with 3D modeling and BIM (Building Information Modeling)

Understanding of local and national building codes related to telecommunications

This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.

Pay Range There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is: $75,200-$158,100
