The Role This position is focused on first-party coverage work — including examinations under oath, insurance fraud investigation, and uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage arbitrations. The associate will also assist with third-party defense matters, such as premises liability cases, as needed. This is an ideal opportunity for an attorney with solid coverage experience who wants more responsibility, strong mentorship, and a steady pipeline of meaningful work.
Key Responsibilities
Handle first-party coverage matters, including insurance fraud investigations, declaratory relief actions, and uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage arbitrations
Conduct examinations under oath and depositions — must have real experience here
Draft coverage opinions
Manage a caseload of first-party and select third-party files
Collaborate closely with claims professionals and internal litigation teams
Assist with premises liability and general defense matters when needed
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
4-6 years of experience in insurance coverage or insurance defense
Licensed and in good standing to practice law in California
Must have taken depositions and/or examinations under oath
Strong writing and analytical skills
Ability to manage files independently while remaining team-oriented
