Job Title Junior Software Engineer (PF2)

Role Overview We are seeking a junior-level Software Engineer to join the Claims & Money Movement portfolio within the Service Experience. Candidates with experience in Java, web technologies, workflow platforms (Pega, Salesforce, or similar), or cloud technologies such as AWS are encouraged to apply. The engineer will participate in the design, development, and delivery of technical solutions within an Agile team. They will work closely with senior engineers and architects, contribute to sprint execution, and develop hands‑on technical skills across modern enterprise platforms. This role is ideal for someone early in their engineering career who wants to grow into a Technical Lead and deepen their expertise in workflow platforms, cloud technologies, integrations, and enterprise engineering.
Key Responsibilities Engineering & Development
Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot applications using Java, web technologies, workflow/BPM platforms (Salesforce, Pega, ServiceNow, Appian, or similar), or AWS cloud components.
Contribute to coding, debugging, unit testing, and participating in code reviews.
Implement integrations, REST APIs, automation components, and user interface features.
Assist with performance tuning, monitoring, and system reliability improvements.
Collaborate with senior engineers to translate designs into working code.
Platform & Systems Support
Participate in CI/CD build pipelines, version control, and DevOps practices.
Support environment readiness checks, deployment preparations, and testing cycles.
Maintain and contribute to technical documentation (runbooks, diagrams, configs).
Assist in triage and troubleshooting of issues across development and test environments.
Agile Delivery & Collaboration
Actively engage in Agile ceremonies—standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, retros.
Provide updates on engineering tasks, risks, and dependencies.
Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, QA, and DevOps to support smooth sprint delivery.
Demonstrate accountability for completing assigned work within sprint commitments.
Learning & Professional Growth
Build deeper skills in workflow platforms (Pega), cloud technologies, and modern integration patterns.
Learn Agile engineering best practices, including automation, testing strategies, and CI/CD.
Progress toward increased technical ownership with a path toward Technical Lead roles.
Required Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in at least one of the following:
Java / Spring / Web technologies
Workflow or CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Pega, ServiceNow or similar
AWS or other cloud platforms
API development, integration, or automation experience
Good understanding of software development principles.
Exposure to Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile ways of working.
Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands‑on experience building components in Pega, Salesforce Flows, or similar platform capabilities.
Exposure to REST APIs, microservices, and cloud‑native application patterns.
Familiarity with AWS services.
Agile certification (CSM, PSM) is a plus but not required.
Pay Transparency Salary Range: $79,000–$113,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
